10,000 farmers wanted, no experience necessary

The National Trust has launched an innovative new scheme, My Farm at their Freedom Food approved Wimpole Farm Estate near Royston in Cambridgeshire – with the aim of reconnecting people and food. 10,000 people are wanted to sign up and contribute £30 a year, entitling them to debate and vote on the key decisions to help run a working farm. Freedom Food supports Fairer Fillings

National Sandwich Week (15-21 May) marked the perfect time to launch the RSPCA Fairer Fillings campaign in Westminster, aimed at encouraging people to consider what they put into their favourite snack. New MPs encouraged to visit local farms

As part of their continuing efforts to increase public awareness of the Freedom Food scheme, the team have been working closely with the RSPCA's political affairs department to encourage new Members of Parliament (MPs) to visit local Freedom Food farms and help them get a better understanding of higher welfare farming. New Faces – Freedom Food Compliance Assessor – Margaret Boyde

Margaret Boyde is the latest recruit to Freedom Food, her role includes reviewing on-farm assessment reports, completed to ensure everything is in order and that all farms comply with RSPCA welfare standards.
